Mustard

Synonyms
Semen sinapis nigrae / Brassica nigra
Composition
Mustard powder from ground mustard seeds, black mustard (not older than 6 months)

Guiding principle

Mustard is fast-growing, producing small yellow, mildly sweet-smelling flowers on increasing numbers of side branches. While the buds above are still pressed together as if in a nest, below the round dark brown seeds are often already ripening in their elongated pods. The fiery power of the seeds is evident when they are chewed. The oils of the mustard plant have a strong irritating effect on the skin and cause artificial inflammation.
